ABOUT THE COURSE
BEng ( Hons ) Architectural Engineering degree program prepares the students with principles and practise used in structures, designs, environmental science such as lightings and acoustics within a building, structure or complex with creative ideas. It helps students to become conceptual sustainable designs by working together with other professionals within multidisciplinary engineering environment. Students will undertake a self-selected project to get hands-on design practices in design studios.

First Year - Mathematics II, Drawing of Construction, Applied Mechanics I (Statics), Surveying, Practical Skills for Engineers, History of Architecture, Sketch Up + Architectural Autocad, Mechanics of Materials, Sustainable Construction, Introduction to Architecture, Estimating, Engineering Mathematics, English.
Second Year - Engineering Mathematics, Materials, Method & Management, Landscaping Architecture, Steel Structure Design, Architecture Design Studio I, Structural Analysis & Design, Introduction to Environmental Science, Design of Reinforced Concrete Structure, Interior Architecture, Architecture Design Studio II, English.
Final Year - Architectural Engineering Project, Environmental Science in Buildings, Architectural Planning, Architectural Equipment, Architectural Engineering Project, Structural Engineering with Lab, Building Construction & Estimating, Architectural Design & Practice.
Methods of Assessments
A range of assessment methods are used throughout the course. The types of assessment used range from practical work that assesses the practical application of knowledge and concepts gained in lectures and seminars and also from learning acquired during self-study to presentation, portfolio and report based on assignments and lab practicals. Time controlled in-class test are also utilised to allow the students to experience and adjust to the industry requirements.
First Year (Level 4)
- Have to pass Foundation (Certificate in Engineering) and IELTS (4.5 overall, 4 on individual skills)
- For the credits (have to sum all cresits of foundation subjects as per new syllabus
Second Year (Level 5)
- Have to pass First Year (120 credits) plus Foundation (100 credits) and IELTS (5 overall, 4.5 on individual skills)
Final Year (Level 6)
- Have to pass Foundation (100 credits), First Year and Second Year (240 credits) plus IELTS (5.5 overall, 5 on individual skills)
