Learning Management System (LMS)

STIMU's electronic course management system facilitates learning more effectively. Students and teachers have individual accounts to access course materials, events, assignments, exam schedules, and grades.

Library Resources

The library contains a full range of texts, including core texts for every course, with online access to thousands of electronic journals via EMERALD and e-books.

  • Open Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Standard lending: 2 weeks, up to 4 books at a time
  • CDs, videos, newspapers, magazines, and journals
  • Reservation system for extended borrowing

Student support

Personal Academic Tutors

Every student has a PAT for academic guidance, motivation, and support. Meetings arranged at the beginning of each term.

Student Council

The STIMU University Student Council organises events, seminars, study tours, and competitions — giving students leadership opportunities.

Feedback & Surveys

Your views on learning experience are valuable. Unit questionnaires are collected each semester to drive improvements.

Mitigating Circumstances

If serious circumstances affect your assessments, submit a Mitigating Circumstances Application form with evidence.

Study skills

Time Management

Draw up task lists, plot on a weekly timetable working backwards from deadlines. University ferry available 6 days a week.

Note-Taking

Take notes in lectures even when handouts are provided. Write up notes soon after class to fix ideas in memory.

Assignment Writing

Plan before writing: introduction, main body, conclusion. Draft, redraft, check for errors before submission.

Referencing

Harvard referencing style required. Reference every source used — books, articles, web pages, images, and recordings.

Employment Outcomes

STIMU alumni have found employment in various local and international companies across Myanmar. The university continues to network with private and non-government organisations to ensure an available pool of placement companies for graduates.

Internship Programme

STIMU assists students in securing internships from its network of partner companies. Teachers provide support on CV preparation, interview skills, and industry information.

Previous internship collaborations include Loi Hein Company, Shwe Taung Construction, and Myanmar Engineering Society. Industry visits expose students to real business environments and direct recruitment connections.
