Entry requirements

Bachelor Programs

  • Matriculated or IGCSE or GCE "O" Level or equivalent
  • IELTS overall band 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each component) for Final Year entry

Master Programs

  • Any recognised Bachelor's degree holder
  • IELTS overall band 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each component)
  • Health Science field degree required for MSc (Nutrition & Dietetics)

Methods of assessment

Each program uses varied assessment methods designed to develop both knowledge and practical skills for employment.

MBA

Assessments focus on authentic workplace scenarios integrating theory and practice. Exams are kept to a minimum. Methods include:

  • Business Reports — demonstrating contextual insight and professional practice
  • Project Plans — demonstrating project planning skills
  • Seminar Papers — developing critical analysis skills
  • In-class tests — knowledge of core concepts
  • Project Report — independent application of learning
  • Business Simulation — strategic decision-making impact

MA Applied Linguistics & TEFL

An incremental approach culminating in a dissertation. Methods include:

  • Academic papers — critically evaluating approaches for language teaching
  • Oral presentations — conference-style dissertation proposal defence
  • Materials evaluation and production — for language teaching purposes
  • In-class tests and examinations
  • Portfolios of practical teaching tasks
  • Teaching practice — actual classroom teaching and materials development

MSc Public Health

Each assignment develops competencies from the UK Faculty of Public Health framework. Methods include: developing an Action Plan, writing a newspaper article summarising complex public health issues, public health reports, research proposals, presentations, and designing public health posters.

MSc Nutrition & Dietetics

Methods include: oral presentations, case study reports, critical reviews of literature, individual reports, practical assessments, a portfolio of experience, end-of-unit examinations, and practical demonstrations. All grading is subject to multiple marking and moderation.

BA (Hons) Business Administration

Range of methods including individual essays, reports, presentations, and examinations. At level 6, independent study through project units and strategic management. The Management and Administration of Projects unit invites project management skills through event organisation.

BA (Hons) Accounting

Methods include: individual written reports, unseen examinations promoting critical thinking, coursework assignments for contextual application, and a specialist project report providing research training with advanced intellectual skills development.

BEng (Hons) Engineering Programs

Assessment methods range from practical work, presentations, portfolios, and report-based assignments to lab practicals and time-controlled in-class tests. Real-world problems are addressed through mini-projects and case studies in both group and individual formats.

BSc (Hons) Construction Management

Range of methods including practical work, presentations, report-based assessments, and time-controlled in-class tests designed to simulate industry requirements.
