Program Overview

The B.Sc. (Hons) Architecture programme provides a comprehensive education in architectural design, building technology, and environmental sustainability. Students develop creative design thinking, technical proficiency in CAD and BIM software, and a deep understanding of the cultural and contextual factors shaping the built environment. The programme emphasises design studio practice, building science, and professional preparation for architectural practice.

Entry Requirements

Foundation in Engineering or equivalent. A portfolio of creative work is recommended. Strong visual communication and mathematics skills.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1 — Design Foundations

Design studio fundamentals, architectural history and theory, building materials and construction, freehand drawing and visual communication, introduction to CAD.

Year 2 — Core Architecture

Design studio 2: housing and community, structural principles for architects, environmental design and building physics, digital modelling (BIM), history of Southeast Asian architecture.

Year 3 — Advanced Design & Technology

Design studio 3: urban and public buildings, advanced building technology, sustainable design strategies, professional practice and ethics, urban planning and landscape design.

Year 4 — Capstone & Professional Portfolio

Design thesis project with a real site in Myanmar, integrated design project, construction law and contracts, professional portfolio and exhibition.
